Structure of Story
V V Important!
You are meant to be working on TWO separate narratives (points-of-view) that LINK INTO EACH OTHER. (See example essay to get the idea)
This means the structure / plot / plan of your story should be like this:
Person 1: Getting ready
Person 2: getting ready
Person 1: Checking travel
Person 2: Checking travel
Person 1: Setting off
Person 2: Setting off
Person 1: Catches bus
Person 2: Bus doesn’t show
Person 1: Sitting in bus thinking about the night
Person 2: Starting to panic
Person 1: Getting into town, wondering if he/she is going to be there first
Person 2: Trying to phone, but battery is dead.
Person 1: Arriving at cinema and checking time… 5 minutes to wait?
Person 2: Run back to house, realise don’t have mobile number… grab bike?
Person 1: Check time. 7pm. No sign…
Person 2: Start cycling… sweaty… ugh!
Person 1: 5 past. Not too worried yet.
Person 2: Traffic lights and bad drivers trying to kill you.
Person 1: 10 past. Not funny. Check phone.
Person 2: Chain come off bike. Ditch bike and run? Fix chain, get covered in oil?
Person 1: 7:14. Film about to start. See different friend headed to cinema.
Person 2: Fix chain, wipe hands on jeans. Oops.
Person 1: Chat to friend…
Person 2: Back on bike… over bridge… almost there.
Person 1: Agree to see film with other friend. Turn in to cinema.
Person 2: Turn corner just in time to see ‘date’ going into cinema with someone else. Give up. Go home…

Hi folks.
Below are the slides from the class. You can use them to remind you of what’s going on and what form your story should be taking. As far as I can tell, you all seem to have grasped the idea of what we’re after… if you aren’t sure, you can speak to me in class, or leave a comment here. (There’s a good chance if you have any questions, others in the class will have them as well.
)
Hi class.
This is where you can come to find out what we’ve been doing, and what we are working on. If you feel brave, you can tell your folks about it so they can find out about this as well.
There will (hopefully) be a new post after every class. Just ask me to post if I miss one for some reason or another!
Finally, as they say in racing: And They’re Off!
